Health Ministry

If you or someone you know has a health issue and would like a visit from the Parish Nurse, please contact the church office or:
Claudia Johnson, RN, BSN - Parish Nurse

A number of offerings are available at the Lafayette or Louisville Senior Centers this Fall.  Be sure to check them out in the Activity Guide/Catalog of each community.

Louisville - 303-666-7400

Lafayette - 303-661-1492

Remember:  You are the most important person in maintaining your health through a healthy lifestyle.  This includes physical, mental, and social activities consistent with your current status - no matter your age.

Want help to Stop Smoking or prevent someone from starting? Here's a web site that might be helpful:

The Lafayette Senior Center has an equipment Loan Closet for temporary needs such as crutches, canes, walkers, shower chair, wheelchairs. Call 48hrs ahead to reserve.

The Health Needs Survey results indicate a number of people are interested in help with exercise or losing weight. Rather than reinventing the wheel, let me direct you to an excellent resource.  Weigh and Win is a free program offering daily email support for both exercise and diet (including shopping lists!). Weight is recorded at special kiosks. (One is located in the lobby of Lafayette’s Bob Berger Rec Center and accessible without membership or fee). Check out the Web site
Care Teams: If you or someone you know needs a meal, visit, call, or other contact by one of our Care Team members, please contact the Parish Nurse, Claudia Johnson. Our care team sends birthday cards to members of our congregation as a reminder that we are all important members of this community. However, to do this, we need to have your birthday (you can leave off the year, of course). If you don't see your birthday in the monthly newsletter, please let Barb VZ in the church office know so we can get your birthday on our list. Also, we have a box in the church office for birthday cards and postage to which you are welcome to contribute.
